Gate automation will keep a swing gate in the closed position, but no gate automation is designed to lock a gate.

All gate automation manufacturers specify the use of an electric lock on individual gates 2m or longer.

Locks prevents forced entry and protect the gate automation and the gate itself from damage caused over time by strong winds or forced entry.
